Important: Unlocking the bootloader completely wipes your device — all apps, photos, and data will be deleted. Back up everything before continuing. This process also voids your warranty.

Enable Developer Options
ℹ
You need to enable Developer Options and OEM Unlocking before the Mi Unlock app can work. Follow these steps on your Poco X6 Pro.
1
Open Settings → About phone → All specs
2
Tap MIUI version (or HyperOS version) 7 times rapidly until you see "You are now a developer!"
3
Go to Settings → Additional settings → Developer options
4
Enable USB debugging and OEM Unlocking
5
Go to Mi Unlock Status in Developer options → Add account and device (requires Mi Account login)
03
Download Mi Unlock Tool (PC)
1
Download the Mi Unlock Tool from xiaomiflash.com or the official Xiaomi developer portal
2
Extract the zip and launch miflash_unlock.exe as Administrator
3
Sign in with the same Mi Account you used on your phone
4
Install the USB drivers if prompted — these are bundled with the unlock tool
⏳
Mandatory Wait: Xiaomi requires your Mi Account to be linked to your device for at least 7 days before unlocking is allowed. You cannot skip this step — plan accordingly.
✓
After adding your account in Developer options, the 7-day clock starts automatically. Keep the phone connected to the internet daily.
✓
Do not factory reset or remove the Mi Account during this period — it will reset the timer.
💡
After 7 days: Follow these steps to boot into Fastboot mode and run the unlock.
1
Power off your Poco X6 Pro completely
2
Hold Volume Down + Power simultaneously until the Fastboot screen appears (MI bunny logo)
3
Connect the phone to your PC via USB-C cable
4
Open Mi Unlock Tool on PC — it should detect your device. Click Unlock
5
Confirm the warning dialog. The phone will wipe and reboot. This is normal.
⌨ Or via ADB/Fastboot (Advanced):
FASTBOOT
fastboot devices
> [your device serial] fastboot
fastboot oem unlock
> OKAY [ 0.000s]
> Finished. Total time: 0.001s
1
After the phone reboots, go through the initial setup
2
Go to Settings → Additional settings → Developer options
3
Check that OEM Unlocking is greyed out and enabled — this confirms a successful unlock
4
You'll also see a small orange lock icon on the bootscreen — this is normal and expected
✅
Success! Your bootloader is now unlocked. You can now flash a custom recovery (TWRP / OrangeFox) and then install any custom ROM.
Now that your bootloader is unlocked, it's time to flash a custom recovery and then your ROM of choice.
